Horizons at Summers Corner is a gated 55+ Community in Summerville, SC, that will soon have great amenities (under construction). Horizons is located in Summers Corner, which has access to Buffalo Lake, a 95-acre lake that is great for fishing/kayaking. Lennar is the home builder in Horizons, and this is one of the most affordable 55+ Communities with new construction in the Charleston area, making it a popular location. In the future, amenities will include: a resort-style pool, clubhouse, fitness center, walking trails, park, picnic area, dog park, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and bocce ball. Lennar is the home builder at Horizons, and the homes are approximately 1,430-2360 square feet in size.

Summers Corner Real Estate

Summers Corner is located in Summerville, and it is a unique community with many nature-oriented amenities (Buffalo Lake, walking trails, parks, ponds).  Within the community is the Corner House Cafe, a great place to enjoy a meal and meet some of your neighbors.  Sand Hills Elementary School and the Performing Arts Center are also at this location.  There are several subsections in Summers Corner, and a 55+ Community, Horizons at Summers Corner.  “The Club at Summers Corner” will eventually have a resort-style Lagoon/pool with several amenities, including a restaurant and an adult-only pool, but this will be at some point in the future.

   Legend Oaks Golf Course is close to Summers Corner, and you will not be far from the Historic Plantations (Magnolia Plantations and Gardens, Middleton Place, Drayton Hall) on Hwy 61.  Some people consider Summers Corner to be farther away from specific amenities than they prefer (shopping, groceries, etc).  There will eventually be a Publix Grocery Store at this location, but for now, you will need to go to a different location for groceries.  There is a neighborhood Walmart about 10 minutes away off of Dorchester Road, along with a couple of other options nearby.  Downtown Summerville is approximately a 15-minute drive from Summers Corner.  

Buffalo Lake is one of my favorite amenities in this community. It is approximately a 95-acre lake, with a kayak launch, boat dock, and fire pit.  This is a private lake for Summers Corners Residence, so it will likely not be very crowded most days.  This is a great location to do some fishing, boating, or just to enjoy a great waterfront view and relax.
